POY Verify for Next.js
Server-side and client-side verification for Next.js applications. API routes and middleware integration. POY Verify for Next.js lets a full-stack framework project confirm that a real, verified human is behind an action without handling any biometric data. POY Verify is in private beta, with API access through the waitlist.
Quick Start
Integration Type: Full-Stack Framework
Server-side and client-side verification for Next.js applications. API routes and middleware integration. POY Verify's full-stack framework integration is designed for minimal friction - typical setup is designed to take minutes.
Installation
npm install @poyverify/next-js
Availability
SDK available to waitlist members; package not yet on public registries.
Basic Usage
// Initialize POY Verify
const poy = new POYVerify('your_api_key');
// Verify a user is human
const result = await poy.verify(userId);
if (result.verified) {
// User is a verified human
console.log('Trust Score:', result.trustScore);
}
// Stamp content as human-made
const stamp = await poy.stamp({
content: contentData,
type: 'text'
});
Why Next.js Developers Choose POY Verify
- Two lines of code - Initialize and verify. That is the entire integration.
- Designed for sub-50ms response - Verification API responds with a design target of under 50ms.
- Reduced data liability - POY is designed not to store user biometric data, which can narrow the data protection obligations the integration adds.
- Free developer tier - 1,000 verifications per month free for development and testing.
- TypeScript support - Full type definitions included for type-safe integration.

About POY Verify
POY Verify is the first universal human verification system built on zero-data architecture. Unlike traditional identity verification services that collect, transmit, and store your biometric data on their servers, POY Verify processes everything inside your smartphone's Secure Enclave - a physically separate processor with its own encrypted memory that even the operating system cannot access. No biometric data ever leaves your device. No personal information is ever collected. No databases exist to breach.
The system works in 30 seconds: your device's hardware sensors (3D depth cameras, infrared emitters, and motion detectors) confirm a living human is physically present. A cryptographic key pair is generated inside the Secure Enclave. The private key never leaves the device. The public key is registered with POY's verification registry. You are now a verified human on the internet - with zero personal data exposed.
Why Human Verification Matters
The internet was built without a way to prove a human being is on the other end of a connection. This architectural gap has created a trust crisis of unprecedented scale. Over 64% of all web traffic is now non-human - bots, scrapers, and automated agents that create fake accounts, post fake reviews, manipulate engagement metrics, and impersonate real people. Deepfake technology has increased 500% since 2024, enabling AI-generated faces, voices, and videos that are indistinguishable from real humans. Deepfake-enabled fraud exceeded $25 billion in losses in 2025 alone.
Traditional verification methods have failed to keep pace. CAPTCHAs are solved by AI with 99.8% accuracy. Phone verification is bypassed by SIM farms selling numbers for cents. Email verification is defeated by disposable address services. Document uploads create massive data breach liability while excluding the 1.4 billion people worldwide who lack government-issued identification. The tools of fraud have outpaced the tools of verification.
POY Verify exists to close this gap. By using hardware-based biometric liveness detection with zero data collection, it provides definitive proof that a real human is present - without the privacy sacrifices, regulatory burden, or exclusion that traditional methods create. The result is a verification layer that works for every human, on every platform, in every country, at zero cost to the individual.

Frequently Asked Questions
What does the POY Verify Next.js integration do?
Server-side and client-side verification for Next.js applications. API routes and middleware integration. It is listed as a full-stack framework integration: a Next.js project calls POY Verify to check whether a user is a verified human, read that user's trust score, and stamp content as human-made. The liveness check itself runs on the user's own phone, so the Next.js side only receives the result. POY Verify is in private beta, so access currently comes through the waitlist.
How do you install POY Verify for Next.js?
The integration page documents the install command npm install @poyverify/next-js. That package is not publicly available yet, because POY Verify is still in private beta and its developer documentation and sandbox environment are planned for launch. Until then, Next.js teams join the waitlist on poyverify.com to request API access and receive setup details along with their API key.
Which API calls does the POY Verify Next.js integration use?
The documented API has 4 calls: poy.verify(userId) checks if a user is a verified human, poy.stamp(content) stamps content with human verification proof, poy.checkStamp(hash) verifies a content stamp is authentic, and poy.trustScore(userId) gets a user's current trust score. A typical Next.js flow initializes POY Verify with an API key, calls verify for the signed-in user, and only unlocks the protected action, such as posting or checkout, when the result comes back verified.
What do you need before adding POY Verify to Next.js?
You need a POY Verify API key, which is issued through the waitlist while the product is in private beta, and an existing Next.js setup where you want to gate an action such as signup, posting, or checkout. Your users need a modern smartphone, because the liveness check uses the phone's own sensors and Secure Enclave rather than anything your Next.js project hosts.
Does the POY Verify Next.js integration handle biometric data?
No. The biometric check runs on the user's own phone inside its Secure Enclave, and no biometric data is sent to POY or to your Next.js project. Your code receives a verified or not-verified result and a trust score for the user, which is what the verify call returns. That keeps face data out of your stack, although you should still review your own privacy obligations.
